Latino Review's Exclusive First Look From THOR

With "Iron Man 2" being released overseas this week and in the U.S. next week, the question always remained whether or not there will be an ending credit scene and obviously there was. We saw the footage last night while everyone was at some Marvel/Paramount event for "Iron Man 2."

So while everyone was having a good time last night, I was working on something pretty cool for the upcoming "Thor" movie. Most of you folks know by now that (spoiler removed!) is shown at the end credits of "Iron Man 2."
Today I have for you a cool pic that our spy sent us.

The photo you see below is THE DESTROYER!

As per my source, THE DESTROYER is sent to earth by Loki to destroy Thor. It stands at about 9 feet tall. The Destroyer is an enchanted suit of armor forged by Odin, and when it first appeared it was hinted that the Destroyer had been created as a weapon to face some dark menace from the stars. The Destroyer is used by Thor's arch-foe Loki on several occasions, and each time has actually come close to killing Thor.

The film follows the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Thor Movie Script Draft: Part 1

This is only a draft of the script and may have changed since then.

Thor: Opening Scene

The film opens up in the best possible way; the introduction of the Nine Realms by a 'booming voice' against a black screen. Embossed words describing each of the worlds begin to appear as the camera opens on the first.

The three Norse spirits Verðandi (present), Urðr (fate) and Skuld (future) narrate the creation of the realms and how the different manner of creatures in them came to be. First, the camera flies over Muspelheim followed by Hel and Niffleheim. The first character introduced Ymir, the first of the Frost Giants and his family in the realm of Jotunheim. You then pass over the realm of the dwarves/gnomes, Svartalfheim, and the elves, Nidavellir. The camera flows through Midgard (Earth) and we see man exulting Odin in his temple. Finally, the camera pans through Bifrost, the Rainbow Bridge, to the the Hall of Asgard, which is filled with the Aesir. Odin and Gaea are introduced while they are conceiving a child. That child turns out to be Thor.

Movie title appears.

The scene darkens and ends, when it opens again we are in 'present day' (centuries after the last scene). We find ourselves on the Asgardian border, where Thor (now an adult), his adoptive brother Loki, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg and Balder (who is actually an older character, as apposed to the comics) are riding thunderously on their horses. They have been tasked on a mission to find Ivaldi, the Gnome king of Svartalfheim. As they ride to the passageway between realms, we see a giant forge and three gnome blacksmiths at work. They are creating the mighty Mjolnir, to present to Thor upon his arrival.

Under Appreciated Band of the Week: Tricky Woo

Tricky Woo is a Canadian indie rock band, based in Montreal. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Andrew Dickson, guitarist Adrian Popovich, bass guitarist Alex Crowe and drummer Patrick Sayers. The name of the band is taken from the name of a fictional pampered dog featured in James Herriot's best-selling autobiographical novel All Creatures Great and Small, which tracks the life of a country veterinarian in pre-war England. Originally formed in 1996 by Andrew Dickson, Sasha Roiz (drums) and Jon Fazakerli (bass), the band released their debut album Rock and Roll Music, Part 1 in 1997. Popovich soon joined on second guitar and Eric Larock took over bass duties for their follow up album The Enemy is Real. Pat Conan replaced Roiz on the drums for the band's critically acclaimed third album Sometimes I Cry.

Popovich subsequently left the band in 2000 , and the band released the album Les Sables Magiques in 2001 before breaking up in 2002. . The band members subsequently participated in a new project, Soft Canyon, which also included former members of Local Rabbits.

Dickson, Popovich and Larock reunited with new drummer Sayers in 2004 for a cross-Canada tour, and the band followed up with the new album First Blush in 2005 with Crowe replacing Larock.

Their 1999 album Sometimes I Cry was a nominee for Best Alternative Album at the Juno Awards of 2000. Their song "Easy" was featured in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "The Zeppo".
